Always calmed by the presence of Flambeaux she yet will not be pacified by the new usurper Casara, yet only by meeting her head on will the Fire World ever be healed

  • The Tall Queen

An ex-noblewoman of the once-great Fire Court, she did well by the Great Decline, retreating to her walled enclave ‘Sunset City’ & setting up a semi-civilised fiefdom at the first sign of trouble. There, she rules in seclusion, protecting her citizens and nurturing her pride, caring little for those outside her thick walls. The courtiers of her city call themselves ‘Giants’, walking on high stilts and wearing tall fire headdresses, revelling in ritualistic pomp, served by their slave classes. But can she be trusted? Is she a friend or a foe to Casara, Flambeaux and to The Calling itself?

  • The Fire Fairy

Gift from the Unicorn, conjured up by the Oracle, the sad and precious Fire Fairy is the innocence of the Fire World personified. Patron saint of the downtrodden & hope for the slave class, her mute & demure way explodes with joy when she is put with Casara., becoming her guide, handmaiden & bodyguard, on great wings of flame as she soars up ahead of the expedition across the plains, scouting for danger, a warriors’ spirit powering her path across the sky above like a shooting star. Until these times of need, she was seen as but a legend, but now she is very very real

  • King Ravenbane

Flambeaux crowned Ravenbane king way back, & tasked him with leading them into a renaissance age of compassion, benevolence & magic. For a while, the Fire People flourished. But fire consumes as well as creates & Ravenbane grew cruel & tyrannical & his court, “Darkworld”, became a feared carnival of debauchery, populated by his ‘Heartless Minions’. The Fire Tribes became refugees in the wilderness, fearing his mercenaries’ brutal raids. Casara now makes her pilgrimage straight to the heart of Darkworld - can she tame a fire that's burned out of control?

  • JJ the Mercenary

Rising Star since the Great Decline, JJ the Mercenary has done well for him and his band of henchmen mercenaries since he began seeing it as an opportunity where his talents for pillaging and brutality could be of use. He has a code though; one of the warrior, eager to meet a glorious death in battle and to redistribute the wealth of the green…into the pockets of himself and his own. He and his band of soldiers are out for themselves. They raid the tribes and steal slaves for Ravenbane but as heir power grows, JJ’s covetousness for the crown itself is scarcely debated..

  • The Unicorn

The Unicorn knew to withdraw from the unfolding dramas of the wars-of-the-flame a long time ago & took her fairy kin to the deep volcanic forest of the equator, where she created and enforced a policy of fun and play which may yet be the key to saving their reality. There, she & her sisters seduce the wayward traveller with beguiling congeniality, teaching & empowering them patiently. Her inherent wisdom is as strong as the branches of their ancient oaks, but NO!.. she will nothelp Casara & Flambeaux! She has gifts so much greater than that if they will stop to find them
